Welcome To Zoho - I might have found my one stop shop online app
My quest for note taking online has taken me from the pioneering but stunted Yahoo Notepad to the flustering Google Notes-maybe google didn't want to spend too much. The ability to save clips of text and media over the net has become essential to make sense of all the information we are bombarded with.
Few days ago I came across notefish.com an online notebook application with Firefox and Internet Explorer plug-ins. It was more sophisticated than Google Notes allowing the user to clip not only the text on a webpage but also the pictures and the links as well. The interface was really simple and easy to understand and for a typical research project, it provides a good way to aggregate results. For more advanced feature such as incorporating multimedia content, the application lacked support for embedded videos such as those from Youtube.
This is where Zoho.com comes in to save the day. The interface is more crowded for it's notebook application but it makes up for it with a very powerful set of features. The feature that sold it to me was the ability to directly embed Youtube and other video directly onto the notepad (or work book in Zoho terminology). If that weren't enough you also have the abilty to record a video note directly onto the page using your webcam. Finally, Zoho.com offers a whole suite of application, akin to the Google applications, such as a word processor, a spreadsheet app, a presentation app and that's not all. Add to all that the ability to publish and share the fruits of your labor and you get what seems to a pretty awesome web service.
Now lets see how it'll stand up against time and bugs.
On a final note if you are looking for something basic go with Notefish, if you need more advanced features go wiith Zoho.

Clones are safe for food...What's next, pot is legal?

First of all with all the scandals that have exposed the bankruptcy of the FDA as a regulatory watchdog for average consumers, how can anybody trust what they have to say?
Secondly, I don't even think it matters anymore. I'm almost sure products find their way onto the market through creative labeling that have not even received the FDA's approval yet.
Thirdly, is the FDA really going to side with the consumers in the end against the agro-industrial complex and its lobbyists? Or will they put in place labeling rules so lax that they might as well not exist?
In any case, vegetarianism is sounding more and more appealing to me since I've already done away with eating red meat. There's no telling when I'll make the full switch but it certainly looks like a far more attractive deal to me now than a few years ago.

"Scribe Fire"
It's my most advanced foray into the brave new world of Blog. I'm using scribefire to help me churn out writings in a more than sporadic manner. I thank Firefox for such an amazing array of add-ons. I should be more regular in my rantings and ravings now.
